I haven't had so much time these last week so I haven't been able to write and read some articles so I'm going to re-post this article I wrote on American Solutions.

1. Securing the Border:Short term: add security personnel and technology and send back all those who are caught. Long term: Build a fence that will be paid with the"New Citizen Tax".
2. Add crossing the border as a misdemeanor to their criminal background. Deport them if they commit any crime.
3. Give them a 3-year period of temporary residency. Thy can apply for a job, take free English lessons and rent a house. Then they can take the Naturalization Test and become citizens.
4. Once they have a job they will have to pay the New Citizen Tax: an extra 5% added to the income tax over 12 years. Now that they can work legally their income will probably increase. Say the average is $40000 a year. 5% of 40000 is $2000. Over 12years, $24000 times the 3.5 million workers = $84 billion. That’s enough tocover the bailouts of: General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac,JP Morgan, Merril Lynch and that still leaves $4 billion.
5. Increase fines on businesses that hire illegal aliens and force them to be fired.
6. Crack down on sanctuary cities
